The talks had been going on since last year, however it was put into agreement and finalized on 27th May, 2022 and approved for launch by the NCC.
One great thing about Starlink is that, you don't have to struggle for internet connection anymore with it. Wherever you are, with Starlink, you have access to as much signal strength as those living in Lekki, in Lagos state.
Being registered in the same category as MTN, they'll be in much competition for customer loyalty, however, I feel some adjustment has to be made in their mode of operation, so they'll compete effectively.
The cost of owning and operating a Starlink connection is cost. It is
available at $110 (~₦60,500) for preorder and also costs as much monthly while
it goes at $599 (~₦330,000) for a full kit, including a terminal, mounting
tripod, and Wi-Fi router. Evidently, it is expensive for the average Nigerian
and Mozambique user. For the premium service, its price is about $2,500
(~₦1.375 million) for the full kit and $500 (~₦275,000) monthly, can you afford Starlink?
However, one thing is certain, it will push the telecommunications networks in Nigeria to up their game and improve internet connection for their users. This is what Elon Musk said about One Starlink from his official twitter account.

What is Starlink?
Starlink provides high-speed, low-latency broadband internet across the globe. Within each coverage area, orders are fulfilled on a first-come, first-served basis with high speeds and latency as low as 20ms in most locations, Starlink enables video calls, online gaming, streaming, and other high data rate activities that historically have not been possible with satellite internet. Users also have the option to take Starlink with them via the Portability feature or Starlink for RVs service.
