News: Kano University(KUST) renamed after a famous Nigeria billionaire.

The renaming of Kano State University of Science and Technology (KUST) to ADUST, Wudil has been accepted by the Kano State Executive Council.

The development came after the university's Visitation Panel recommended it, according to Muhammad Garba, the state commissioner for information, who announced it in his statement on Sunday

According to him, the move was made in response to a suggestion from the university's visiting panel.

The institution has now been renamed Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, ADUST, Wudil, according to Mr Garba.

He said that the decision had been forwarded to the state House of Assembly, which would analyze and perhaps alter the applicable statutes creating the university.

The state university was formed during Rabi'u Kwankwaso's first term as governor of the state.
